This podcast episode discusses the co-edited volume "Ex-Combatants and Peace Agreement with the FARC-EP in Colombia: Balance of the Early Phase." released by the Corioli Institute's President and Chair Erin McFee together with Angelika Rettberg from the Universidad de los Andes. This book carries out a multidisciplinary analysis of different aspects of the peace process between the Colombian Government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia - People's Army (FARC-EP), as well as the challenges of the early implementation of the agreement reached in 2016. The authors address practical issues regarding reintegration, implementation of peace agreements, and transition situations related to ex-combatants. They analyze the political reintegration process, the role of international cooperation and the private sector, the responses of demographic groups such as youths, alongside the institutional adjustments that this early stage has implied.
