(DDR) Summit

CI's President and Chair Erin McFee contributed as a primary author and data collector to this report on the First Global Disarmament, Demobilization, and Reintegration (DDR) Summit "Global DDR Challenges and Techniques, South-South Cooperation, and Rural and Territorial Reintegration" in Santa Marta, Colombia, December 1-4th 2013. Organized by the Colombian Agency for Reintegration (ACR) with support from various global partners, the GDDR summit convened to foster a comprehensive exchange of knowledge and strategies across nations facing similar post-conflict challenges. Over a decade ofreintegration efforts in Colombia and ongoing peace negotiations with the FARC rebels highlighted the critical need for such international collaboration. The event drew over 1,500 participants from 57 countries, facilitating discussions on community-based DDR approaches and multi-level cooperation.
